Communicating information with another person regardless of their country of origin during an election or any other time is protected by the First Amendment. What if the information was that the opponent was a foreign agent and it could be verified? Wouldn’t we want to know this before electing them? The election laws are intended to prevent foreign bribery either in cash or other “things of value” like airplane flights or hotel bills. A good example was when Bill Clinton’s campaign illegally received millions of dollars from China that were laundered through Chinese-American proxy donors. He was forced to return the money and report to prison as I remember. Or maybe not...

It’s too bad that the FEC doesn’t bother to consider the donations to the Democrat party that social media sites provide in free service every time they ban, block, suspend or shut down a Conservative social media account. They are providing a valuable service to the Democrat Party, which the DNC would otherwise have to pay for. There is no equal time for Republicans on social media.
