BTW, trouble in the Gulf means higher oil prices. Big trouble in the Gulf means skyrocketing oil prices.

Skyrocketing oil prices means a slowing of our economy. Perhaps even the threat of a recession.

That (a recession or the threat thereof) gives the Democrats fodder for their 2020 campaign.

What goes up will revert after the shock of reality sets in. The rise in prices will settle in short order. Nervous nellies will not prevail
