Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida says the GOP needs to advance sound conservative proposals to combat climate change and embrace science, or risk long-term political damage.

"...the effects of global warming, from stronger hurricanes to more-destructive wildfires..." Good God. Just taking a falsehood and accepting it as truth. I know the WSJ is not conservative in the traditional sense, but they sound like they are simply accepting this at face value.

There have always been hurricanes, floods and wildfires.....many of them in the 19th century were far worse than those of today.
There just was not much, if anything, to blow down, wash away or burn in those days.
Matt Gaetz is a damn disappointment.

If I even saw ONE weather/climate related episode that was SO UNUSUAL as to make me wonder WTH is going on, where I live, I MIGHT say “maybe...”
I HAVE NOT.
Including Sandy. Those things happen.
SUSTAINED below freezing temperatures in NYC in July would give me pause.
I’ll get back to you when that happens.

Not that surprising. Most of the younger republicans have gone to schools that indoctrinate all their students about recycling, pollution and climate change. It’s just about everywhere these days. The smarter ones learn to pick and chose which Green programs to go along with.

I have seen no evidence of more powerful hurricanes or any other unusually weather phenomenon.

How can we as a party stand up to the generational challenges we face with globalization and automation and climate change if we dont look credible to the body politic, Wow. I didn't think he was such a self-server. A moronic one at that.

1. What results are expected and when.
2. What constitutes success.
3. Who decides what projects are conducted and their costs.
4. When is the end date.
5. How are results replicated via the scientific method as proofs.
6. Who controls the $$$$$$, where, and how is it distributed.
These are what I want to know for something called ‘climate change’ before I consider it valid.

A small but growing number of Republican lawmakers are urging action on climate change, driven by shifting sentiment among GOP voters and the effects of global warming, from stronger hurricanes to more-destructive wildfires. Is it climate change or global warming?
Stronger hurricanes and more destructive wildfires?
Not a shred of evidence that either one is occurring or that either can be linked to climate change or global warming. F'NNG idiots.
