Doesn’t DuckDuckGo use Google’s query results, in Google’s order, just adding a privacy layer in the mix?

I had to set up a gmail account to set up my Android smart phone, which pissed me off. I don’t use gmail. And I hate doing business with Apple. Not many options for cellular any more.
