Lead counsel Donica Varner is likely a lifetime affirmative action recipient, so she may just not be a very good attorney, and possibly just not very smart.

It appears the cost of affirmative action is 22 million in this case. Maybe the full 33 million. But this dumb AA hire has the shovel out. Someone might want to take it away. Only if millions of dollars are worth the illusion of AA and the views of the good college.

Just Googled her! She be another “Holder’s Person,” so your affirmative action comment is spot on!

“Varner is a graduate of North Carolina State University, where she majored in political science. She earned her law degree at the University of Michigan.”

Lead counsel Donica Varner

Actually, she's in-house counsel for the college. Trial counsel was "TAFT STETTINIUS & HOLLISTER LLP" out of Cleveland. Local counsel was "Wickens, Herzer, Panza, Cook & Batista" in Avon. (Avon is pretty much a Cleveland suburb. So I'm not sure how much sense that makes).

She previously held the same position at the University of Michigan, and probably for the same reason.
