I had a couple of such charges last month, while on a trip away from home. They were suspicious enough that the credit card company called me on my cell phone. It turned out that they were from a Subway and a gas station, both of which I had visited. The credit card company explained that they were tests by the vendor to see if the card was valid before they would allow the larger purchase. The total was not effected.
I am surprised that this is not explained more clearly on the invoice.
Well that’s interesting.
The orders were from outside the U.S. And the money amounts were small...no more than two bucks.
Didn’t notice what the total was...will check out.
I will keep researching.
