I found out eggs are fifty cents a dozen near where I live. 90 calories and huge health benefits, for less than a nickel.
The people that don’t have it so good are the poor, who live in food deserts. It’s fast food or no food. Expensive and unhealthy.
Have you ever watched someoene play Grand Theft Auto? There are lots of different neighborhoods in it and it is a microcosm of the LA area. When you drive down Sunset blvd everyone is HWP.
Then when you go south of the city, in the “poor” area, most of the women are black, fat, slobs. It’s amazingly, um, non-PC - and highly realistic.
Yes, it is. Maybe on holidays I spend more, but typically I spend <$5 /day, unless I go out for lunch. I know this because I buy almost all my food from the local Lidl, and most months I barely make my $150 reward goal. And that includes alcohol and usually a few small items of clothes or housewares. The quality is good, and if you shop the specials, you get it cheap.
