On Monday, President Trump learned that CNN was the primary source of news coming out of the United States for the U.K., and he was not happy.
Trump tweeted the following after he spent a few minutes watching television during a break with his state visit to the island.
Just arrived in the United Kingdom. The only problem is that @CNN is the primary source of news available from the U.S. After watching it for a short while, I turned it off. All negative & so much Fake News, very bad for U.S. Big ratings drop. Why doesn’t owner @ATT do something?

Rupert Murdoch has taken the rightwing US channel Fox News off the air in the UK after 15 years.
His US media group 21st Century Fox said it would withdraw Fox News from Sky in the UK on Tuesday because it no longer regarded the service as commercially viable.
The decision came as Karen Bradley, the culture secretary, is set to return her verdict on whether to ask the competition regulator to launch an investigation into the Murdochs’ adherence to broadcasting standards in the UK as part of an inquiry into Fox’s £11.7bn takeover bid for Sky.
However, sources said the decision to stop broadcasting Fox News, which went off air at 4pm, was not connected to the takeover bid, arguing that the channel attracted only about 2,000 viewers a day in the UK.
“[Fox] has decided to cease providing a feed of Fox News Channel in the UK,” a spokeswoman for the company said. “Fox News is focused on the US market and designed for a US audience and, accordingly, it averages only a few thousand viewers across the day in the UK. We have concluded that it is not in our commercial interest to continue providing Fox News in the UK.”

I watched it in ‘98 from Israel and was shocked.
Even then, it was hard core lefty with constant attacks on the GOP and Newt.
Yes, Europe gets very biased news about the US...primarily from CNN.

Fake news in the US and fake news outside the US. There’s plenty of reliable foreign news sites and their news of what’s going on in the US.
I happened to catch CNN last month and the actual banner along the bottom was “Trump tells 21 lies this morning” and they spent 10 minutes discussion how much lying he did that day alone... it was disgusting.
And the ‘lies’ were when he said “no Russian collusion” and “no obstruction” EACH TIME. (so if he said both of them 10 times, which he is prone to do, that counted as 20 ‘lies’)
So the UK receives nothing but CNN propaganda from the USA? Not good.
Watch it change now, though.
Must be why the thousands, or tens of thousands, maybe millions of Trump hating (NOH8!) assclowns turned out to protest his visit. Or merely the 5-10 thousand that actually showed up. Tight shots do NOT make the numb-ers any larger. We are on to their tricks these days.

Murdoch pulled it off cable just as Hannity got going with evidence of Spygate/Coupgate, with the help of the Solomon/Carter team.
Freepers noted the lie about low audience figures before BBC even published this piece. besides, no-one pulls a channel off cable, even if the audience is small.

21st Century Fox, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch, said the channel was being withdrawn as it was not commercially viable.
The decision was not related to Fox’s takeover bid for Sky, a source told the BBC...
The source said that Fox News had about 2,000 average daily viewers. The costs of distributing the US network in the UK meant it was not in 21st Century Fox’s commercial interests to continue, the source added.
However, figures from the Broadcaster’s Audience Research Board (Barb) suggest that Fox News’ average UK daily viewing figures were nearly 60,000 per day this year.

We all have to ask ourselves this question.
We need to be hammering them daily on this--everyone of us.
Normally I think boycotts are fairly ineffective, but this one, even if it has no real impact, means we don't subsidize them.
