The Department of the Treasurys Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on Tuesday unveiled new travel restrictions to Cuba as part of President Donald Trump's foreign policy position. The Department amended the Cuban Assets Control Regulations (CACR) which now bans all non-family travel to the country. The State Department said the United States will no longer permit visits to Cuba via passenger and recreational vessels, including cruise ships and yachts, as well as private and corporate aircraft.
The goal of the restrictions is to significantly hinder Cuba's economy and pressure its government to stop aiding Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro.
Cuba continues to play a destabilizing role in the Western Hemisphere, providing a communist foothold in the region and propping up U.S. adversaries in places like Venezuela and Nicaragua by fomenting instability, undermining the rule of law, and suppressing democratic processes, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said in a statement. This Administration has made a strategic decision to reverse the loosening of sanctions and other restrictions on the Cuban regime. These actions will help to keep U.S. dollars out of the hands of Cuban military, intelligence, and security services.

Should never have been lifted, anyway
Memo:
To: Castro
From: President Trump and the Coalition
The price for propping up Maduro is higher than you have the money to spend
Good.
FUBO!
Trump gets it. Access to the U.S. economy is our most powerful non-nuclear weapon.
I just wish President Trump had nixed this idiotic Obama policy fully on day one of his administration. The full embargo should have remained in place.
Oh well, better late than never and always happy to see another piece of the Obama legacy expunged.
Look at a few YouTube videos of todays Havana, and youll see how far the country has come since the Russians left in the early 90s. Then, there was no food, no businesses, and nothing but poverty. Now, Havana looks like any trendy tourist spot. I attribute this to the relaxed sanctions. Having tasted prosperity, it would be infinitely more painful to go go back to those days than it was to live through them. New sanctions will bite hard.
There should be an exception for Entertainers and Hollywood Big Shots to Travel to Cuba still, just don’t let them come back.
Heck, make it any Rat who wants to put down roots there.
