And just as pointless and ineffective as the “bump stock” ban which can be circumvented with a heavy duty rubber band or a dozen other ways. A perfectly serviceable silencer can be constructed with a motorcycle muffler and some heat tape, there are dozens of videos floating around the internet.

I still have some FIREPOWER MAGAZINES from the 1980s showing how to make a silencer from a two liter soda pop bottle.
From the FP article, it works fine for a few shots.

Except the bump stock allowed weapons to fire at a extended rate they weren’t designed or built for...and the circumvention are even less accurate when spraying lead than the bump stock.
