It will be interesting to see what the economy does between now and 11/2020. It will have an impact on Trump’s win margin.

Yup, ADP projections are always shitty!

They project 200K jobs & then it turns out to be 20K

They project 20K jobs & then it turns out to be 250K

Yup, ADP projections are always shitty!

ADP doesn't project anything, they report on actual payroll data.

You may be thinking of the correlation with the BLS employment numbers which come from an entirely different process.

ADP reports payroll statistics for the companies who happen to use ADP to do their payrolls.

We’re pretty close to full employment in this country and the it gets more difficult to fill jobs that are still outstanding.

“Unexpectedly?”

The word would be “typically” if there were a RAT in the White House.

ADP doesn't project anything, they report on actual payroll data.

My understanding is that ADP uses its own payroll data, which it then extrapolates across the employment spectrum. If ADP loses marketshare to Paychex or other competitors, then it could misinterpret the loss to a drop in job growth.

Or pretty much everyone has gotten a job so the job growth rate is slowing from it’s blistering pace of the last 2 years.

Remember we are at record unemployment.

Where did I say “unexpectedly”?

I've never understood why this is such a hard number to come up with.

We should know how many people are drawing a paycheck. Compute that against the working population and there's your employment or unemployment rate.

When the employment cup is “full”, how does one add to the number? Perhaps, employers will begin to compete on wages.

Fair enough. It looks like with their enhanced report they're working with Moody's Analytics and incorporating BLS and other data.

They're goal is to match the BLS's final revised numbers.

Not what they used to do.
