Planting child porn on computers is a deep state dirty trick. Child porn sickos exist but deep state techniques to take down targets using heinous charges also exist. A lurker cannot know for sure.
So it’s wise to be suspicious.
This Nader fellow having pled guilty to a similar charge in 1991, now 28 years later, would have to be severely defective in practical sense than to bring incriminating material into the country. But then such defective persons do indeed exist but they usually are not equipped to travel internationally.
And then there’s the question of how was it known what was on his smartphone?
I didn’t read the background on Nader but just saw title and excerpt attributing something to framing Don Jr. and Nader connected to the Trump transition team. If he’s bad news, then kudos to the cops that nabbed him. If he’s a deep state target unfairly framed, then the Swamp is up to no good here.

So the MO is the same - arrest on entry for something you know (or suspect) he has. Either it was planted, or they poked around in his stuff remotely until they found what they knew they could use on a device they were sure he'd carry with him.
And now they have leverage - minimum 15-years, or cooperation.
