There is just no dealing with this country. It is now what it always was and always will be. A totalitarian system that rises, overreaches, and eventually destroys itself from within. China’s history is rife with rises and falls. It has never been free, never wanted to be free, and never will be free.
Centuries ago, when Europeans started having regular contact with them, they noted the arrogance with which the Chinese approached European inventions and discoveries. They were so sure they had all the knowledge they didn’t even want to look at many of the European gadgets and texts. Just like today, they are so sure their system will prevail they think they don’t have to listen to anyone else. A good healthy collapse likely approaches.
