I don't know about that. I mean you get to spend lots of time with friends and neighbors socializing while standing in food lines.
I routinely look at a website of a guy in Venezuela who is rescuing cats. He’s moved to the country. He’s mentioned that his dad now gets a monthly ‘pension’ worth $1.00 US. He gets by from donations out of country and through local contacts. At one point he said a tin of sardines increased in price six times every month. I don’t know how he cares for all these animals.

Socialized and “single-payer” health care works great unless you get sick.
Just like the managed care that a herd of cattle gets from the veterinarian, people generally don’t have to worry about the expense of their health care under such a system. They can contentedly rely on State much like Elsie the Cow relies upon Bordens. Of course, the State is going milk them every day and, when a member of the herd has a condition that costs more than the milk it produces is worth, it receives no medical treatment and is generally culled from the herd.
IIRC, taxpayers are taxed at 20-25% more to pay for the ‘free’ health care in Britain. Yes, you can buy private insurance, after already paying for everybody else’s healthcare, but it was a whole lot more than $2,000-$4,000 per year. I worked in the NHS when I lived in Britain in the 80’s. My FIL needed to be in a hospital at the end of his life. All the NHS provided was a home health aide twice a week to come and change his dressings. And the each person still has to pay to stay in a nursing home, and those are exponentially more exponentially than nursing homes are here. Maybe Australia is a better place to be sick when you are elderly, but Britain is not.
Those spouting the virtues of socialism never explain why Westerners, with the highest standard of living in the world, ever move to socialist dumps - and why refugees from those socialist dumps flee to the West.
At this point, they are coming here for netter free sh!t than they were getting back home; in the past, they came here because working would give them a much better standard of living than working for “The State” in a socialist would ever provide.

Actually people who were coming from communist countries came here and worked hard.
In the past, they absolutely did; now many fleeing “socialism” are coming here for “free” sh!t.
Detroit? Philadelphia? Los Angeles? San Francisco? Portland? Denver?
Legalize drugs and they will come.
