Exactly. It was disconcerting to watch so many folks out themselves, or something like that when Trump came along.
I come across as a know nothing.
That’s worse! :)
Who is this Jonah Goldberg????
Jonah was to conservative writing what Charlie Sykes was to conservative talk radio
“Just stopping by to say I dont read him.”
I second that motion. I read George Weigel. Reading Peter Wehner was helpful before Trump decided to run for president in 2016.
No it is not. You are humble.
Don’t let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya, RINOberg...
You’ve never read the little liberal faggot’s Twitter feed, obviously...
“Liberal Fascism” is an excellent book-I read it twice!
He noted how the “establishment” sung praises to Mussolini
and other dictators in the 1920s and 1930s.
Excellent post. When William F Buckley (The sainted one) died National Review lost its sense of purpose. National Review is not dead but it is dying. It will be gone in a few years because it lost its vision and purpose as defined by William F Buckley.
I will not mourn National Reviews death in its present form. I do mourn the death of its former great self.
That great journal did not die by an outside hand. It died by suicide by choice. It did not even know it chose suicide.
The country is under attack by a deadly combination of true Leftists (that have taken over many of its institutions, such as education and the judiciary) and self-centered, greedy members of the “deep state” and “big business” that, despite all of the flag waving, usually don’t have America’s best longterm interests at heart. Some people can be labeled as members of both groups, but in a general sense, the alliance is a temporary one that has formed out of a preference for globalism.
The point here is that the only real defense against that alliance is a right-wing populist. Trump is not my ideal President (many of the complaints about his personality are valid, I think), but I see that he’s a necessary one for the times. Never-Trumpers like Jonah will never see that.
It did not even know it chose suicide.

People can damn me and slam me all they want, but imo, Jonah and his fellows were “approved opposition” that only ever pretended to oppose the left.
They *are* the uniparty.
Yep.
Here’s your hat and coat. Come back when you can’t stay so long.

’ JG peaked about 2008 with ‘Liberal Facism”, ...”
Correct. He was absolutely on the money with L F
Unfortunetly as with so many never Trumpists lost the goal of saving this country.
And, I'm more than willing to be convinced otherwise.
.
Jonah,
How can we miss you if you wont go away?
L
Nice enough guy but his mother Lucianne handed him his career on a silver platter and when he started, Jonah when on the radio would put the word, “LIKE” into each sentence over 3 times.
Yes, WORSE than AOC, maybe worse than any high-school, cheerleading Valley Girl.
I don’t know why.
One had to hear him to believe it.
