Disaster for Brexit? SHOCK poll suggests pro-EU Lib Dems on track to WIN general election
Express ^ | 31 May 2019 | James Bickerton

A SHOCK poll has suggested the Liberal Democrats are on course to get the most votes in a general election, ahead of the Brexit Party, raising fresh concerns anti-Brexit activists will be able to block the UK’s EU departure.

The fiercely pro-EU Liberal Democrats have vowed to call a second referendum on Britain's EU membership. A YouGov poll for The Times put them on 24 percent of the vote, ahead of the Brexit party with 22 percent. The Conservatives and Labour are relegated to joint third position with 19 percent each.

However according to the Electoral Calculus website Labour still take the most seats based on this result, with 202

The liberal democrats would gain a record 119 leaving the Conservatives with 110.

This would produce a hung Parliament, creating the potential for a Labour-Liberal Democrat coalition promising another public Brexit vote

Reacting to the news of Twitter the party commented" "Liberal Democrats in first place in latest YouGove poll.

The LibDems are on the rise"

While I would take this poll result with a grain of salt, it is clear that the results of a General Election are murky, to say the least

That's why Labour and the Tories do NOT want a General Election and will not vote no-confidence

Even if the Tory ERG calls for no-confidence (political suicide for the Tory party), Labour's Corbyn will vote against it most likely. If he doesn't, he could lose the GE or be shoved into a partnership with the LibDems - which he as a good communist and leave voter does not want

This is baloney, it is to keep the two major Parties in intact. Brexit now has over 100,000 members. Both the Brexit and Liberal Parties will take votes from the two major Parties and destroy them both.

If the Tories don’t go for a no deal Brexit, they are history.

Just like the Democrats not accepting the fact Trump won, the Communists in Europe cannot accept the Brexit referendum. We really need to put some hurt on those ingrates through legal and political methods, bigtime.

Okay, but it’s possible that their next general election won’t be until 2022, so who cares...

I will be a contrarian. Whatever the UK MSM says, the opposite seems to be the case, at least recently.

if i am correct then the UK needs to be hit hard and fast with a general election which the brexit party will win. at that time, the incoming UK PM will be farage, as it should be. the remainders are the UK MSM are just passing gas until farage arrives at 10 downing. brexit has the momentum. the remainers have their non-parsing story. farage already has the winning strategy, campaign in flyover country and london be damned. they will be too lazy and complacent to vote in force, and their rallying cry is what? another vote, to counter the first vote to end votes? that’s not inspiring. quite the opposite.

The Brexit party has only Nigel Farage as a member as of the end of May 2019. You can’t sign up to be a member, just a donater

If they do go for a no-deal Brexit they are history as well, but just a slower death.

who cares?

so long as brexit is consummated and the GLOBALISTS are annihilated is all that matters.      everything else can be cleaned up later.

no, the previous was for the EU parliamentary elections

The results of that was

The Brexit party won 30.5% of the vote, UKIP 3.2% - these are the two pro-leave-no-deal and they won 29 seats out of 73 (total seats in the EU parliament is 750)

This is an opinion poll on potential intentions for a potential General Election

As per the 2011 fixed terms act the next General Election is due for 2022 except if the government falls due to a no-confidence (not much chance of that happening as both Labour and the Tories don't want to get massacred. They hope the country will forget or that they will have chances to change their view

Technically the EU is opposed to globalisation - which is why it puts up so many barriers to non-EU countries to trade with the EU countries. the EU supports the role of the nation state as we see in Estonia and Ireland

The European Union is thoughtfully European nationalistic

I know that this is a hard concept to grasp, because it is unprecedented. The train of thought behind this question is something akin to this: “If something is above the national scale, it must be globalist, right?”

Wrong.

The EU was built, precisely, in order to fight the perils and risks that globalism brings with it.

It is an institution devoted to shield the peoples of Europe from the attacks and competition from superstates such as China or global megacorporations such as liberal Amazon and Facebook.

It has been doing a good, albeit flawed job. The EU is the solution to the problems of globalism, not its cause. The EU offers us the only type of protectionism for small European countries that can work in our globalized age: A multi-national, cooperative type of protectionism.

NOTE: this does NOT apply for a hyper-state like the US or China or India - those three can stand completely on their own. And india is technically a union of nations as well

Make no mistake, the EU will put the interests of the European nations that are part of this union, above those who are not. The EU don’t give a crap about “the world” or “the global community”. The EU will defend its very European interests to the bitter end.

That’s the very opposite of globalism.

He didn't "win overwhelmingly" - he definitely "won unexpectedly large" but he hasn't won the majority of UK allocated seats in the EU parliament (the UK has 73 out of 750 EU parliament seats)

Farage won 29 seats out of 750. This is better than the 2014 UKIP seats of 24. Basically the vote shifted from the UKIP with Farage
