As a resident of the Peach State.....Thank you Disney. Take all your radical, liberal, hipster friends with you. As someone who lost a job due to a hedge fund buying enough stock to start running things, I certainly don’t want to see anyone lose their jobs. But, I’ve dealt with more than a handful of the production folks and it seemed like, damn near all of them were from out of state. So, move with the work like the Indians followed the buffalo herds and take your liberal BS with you.

Because they promise the local politicians all sorts of money filling the coffers of local businesses in exchange for them to block off roads and take over the town square for a week. Only people getting money are:
the cops-working off duty security
whatever they pay for permits, etc
whatever caterer they hire
the downtown hotels in Atlanta-where all the actors & important folks stay-they don’t stay in Covington when the work day is done, they head to the Ritz, on Peachtree downtown
It’s not like the film crews, producers, actors, etc are taking up residence in the towns/cities and throwing money around like it’s their job.
