What? Scotland only has 5 million people and is poorer than England. I think you grossly overstate Scotland’s size and importance.
If The UK did consent to letting them go, England would be relieved of the burden of making annual transfer payments via social welfare schemes. Also, it would considerably strengthen the hand of the Tories/Conservatives.....so there would be benefits.
UK is a tiny nation already. That’s my point.
