THE GROWING ASSAULT ON PRIVATE PROPERTY – ARE SINGLE-FAMILY HOMES “RACIST?”
American Policy Center ^ | 07 March 2019 | Tom DeWeese

Posted on 05/29/2019 2:32:27 PM PDT by jmcenanly

One of the main indicators used by economists to measure the health of the nation’s economy is housing starts – the number of private homes being built around the nation. In 2018 housing starts fell in all four regions of the nation, representing the biggest drop since 2016.

While many economists point to issues such as higher material costs as a reason for the drop in housing starts, a much more ominous reason may be emerging. Across the nation, city councils and state legislatures are beginning to remove zoning protections for single-family neighborhoods, claiming they are racist discrimination designed to keep certain minorities out of such neighborhoods. In response to these charges some government officials are calling for the end of single-family homes in favor of multiple family apartments.

To these people, any attempt at a personal life is anathema. They rally for free range chickens, but put people in coops.

And posting a two month old blog in News?

Does that not just raise your blood pressure to dangerous levels?

Oh the humanity.

Agenda 21.

Which went down like a submarine, and was renamed The UN 2030 Agenda.

I wonder if they’ll revive the old “imputed rent” pipe dream of lefty “public policy” weenies back in the 1970s?

I think that writing without capitalization or punctuation is racist.

Maybe boneheaded or ignorant but certainly racist.

Could be a little retarded in there too, I don't know.

This is the so is,ust vision.

No single family homes.

California is working for it now.

People are supposed to live in hives near public transport.

I can believe they will use the “white supremacy” argument as a weapon against traditional homes.

“old “imputed rent” pipe dream”

Another good reason not to pay off your mortgage.

My beloved grandparents had their share of tough times during the Depression. They lived in apartment bldgs and NOT like that “Bronx tenement” AOC’s parents lived in before moving into a single family MANSION of their own. Yet they scrimped and saved and worked their you-know-whats off until a few years after WW2, they could afford a nice two family off of Pelham Pkwy. It wasn’t Trump Towers but they were able to live out their years quite comfortably in that nice little home. Same with my parents, my dear old dad worked hard and by the time I was 10 we moved into a nice new house in Rockland Cty, and my dad still worked hard. When you run you own businesses some serious responsibilities go along with it. More serious than, say, oh I don’t know maybe....COMMUNITY ORGANIZING.

That was imputed income base on the difference between the assigned value and the potential rental income. Expect that foolishness to make a comeback

“People are supposed to live in hives near public transport”

Because their two Sacred Ideas can’t coexist: mass immigration and no-growth environmentalism.

Presto!

The way to have green space AND let in the entire Sacred Third World is....tenements. Just like good ol’ Manhattan.

So that’s it folks: the Enviro-Geniuses of the Left have their model and it’s...Noo Yawk. We all live on top of each other surrounded by untouchable green space...which of course WILL have caretakers selected from the Green Movement Nomenklatura — at least that’s the way it’s done here in California.

“beginning to remove zoning protections for single-family neighborhoods”

How is “removing” zoning restrictions an assault on private property?

If a property owner wishes to build something other than a single family home on a piece of property then should they not be able to do so?

They don’t make any sense.

Apartments, putting people up in pens, by their “logic”, that’s racist.

Notice home prices aren’t included in official government monetary inflation statistics? Nor food, nor “energy”.
