he LGBT media is turning to sensationalist reporting and headline hysteria on an HHS rule change that protects the consciences of medical professionals.
In a hysterical headline, even for LGBT media, Queerty breathlessly announced that President Trumps latest proposed rule change will kill lots of trans people. Lambda Legal sounded the alarm:

Homosexuals are falsely claiming that the government must provide validation of transgender identities and exclusive access to otherwise elective procedures not normally covered by health insurance. A woman wishing to have cosmetic breast surgery pays out of pocket.
They demand that a transgender person who gets the identical service should require other people to pay for it.

The real problem here is that the ever intrusive government is defining gender in the first place.

Since gender is a 1984 Newspeak word, it must be the government’s responsibility.

Gender....is a choice
Sex ......is science
I’m sick of people using the word “gender” when speaking about a person’s sex, The two words do NOT mean the same thing.

Um, gender is not a choice. Every language that uses it has set rules for what a certain word's gender is. Find you a Spanish speaker and ask them about el basura or la dormitorio. You'll get a funny look, because trash cans are supposed to be feminine, and bedrooms are masculine. Some words can go either way, but they mean entirely different things. Feminine 'pez' is tar/pitch, while masculine 'pez' is fish. Masculine 'papa' is pope, while feminine 'papa' is potato.
Even in English, gender is objective. The are only a few words that use it (mainly pronouns), and they relate to the sex of the subject. Males receive masculine pronouns, and females get feminine (obviously). However, If the sex is unknown, or there is at least one male in a group, the whole is treated as masculine. Then there are a couple splits, like blonde/blond, alumnus/alumna, and so on. English gender really isn't important, because adjectives and adverbs hardly ever depend on the sex of the subject like they do in many other languages.
