Why do they successfully travel millions of light years, staying hydrated, nourished, avoiding meteorites, radiation, planetary pull, black holes, entry ino our atmosphere, and in the last hundred feet need to turn on bright lights to see where they are?

I’m assuming if not already, that in the future driver-less cars wont need headlights.
But INCREDIBLY ADVANCED civilizations need them to see where they’re going.

Perhaps they only traveled 4 light years - like form the trinary Alpha Centurai system ... There are hundreds of stars that are only a handful of light years away.
And further perhaps these aliens (sic) are not ORGANIC (”the thing about aliens is they are alien”);
or perhaps these objects represent alien AI machines which report back from time to time;
or perhaps there once were organic aliens, but they are from a species that is billions of years old and have become their technology;
or perhaps these objects are ours but come from a separate culture spawned by the trillions of dollars that have been fed into BLACK projects for 80 years.
