A new Gillette ad released last week Thursday features a transgender man shaving for the first time.
Samson Bonkeabantu Brown, a Toronto-based artist, shares the personal on-camera experience with his father, who coaches him through the significant life moment.
“Now, don’t be scared,” his father warns. “Shaving is about being confident.”
“Growing up, I was always trying to figure out what kind of man I wanted to become and I’m still trying to figure out what kind of man that I want to become,” says Brown, who addresses his transition through manhood.

Blacks should be incensed about Gillette using Black actors for this sick ad.
Corporate America has decided to throw in with the Leftist anti-gun, anti-moral, and sexual deviant branch. Time to bankrupt them. Their shareholders will take of the rest.
Honestly, the whole thing measures a *shrug* from me.
If that’s how they see the best way to spend their advertising dollars and see this as a potential market, let them at it.
The only way I’d care one way or another is if I had stock in the company. (Although, I guess I could check my 401(k) funds to see if I do, but I probably won’t.)

The mentally-ill ditz is just shaving her face instead of her legs, but I’m sure she has shaved many times before. In any case, I won’t be buying Gillette products again for the rest of my life. I decided that after their first “why everyone should hate men” ad, and this confirms that my decision was correct.
I use Bic now. I was a 55 year customer of Gillette. But Gillette can now KMA. Not going back.
I tried using the Bic among a couple others that feel like pulling the individual hairs out with tweezers might be a better option.
Since Gillettes last campaign I’ve been using my trimmer and as far as i’m concerned it’s good enough.

i moved from a gillette razor to Schick after their first commercial and I try to buy NOTHING from Proctor & Gamble...

On a positive note, this creates opportunities for small, entrepreneurial companies who can fill the market void left by Gillette/P&G.

Gillette looks to have just doubled down on stupid.
I switched to Schick Xtreme 3 and find they give a very close shave using barbasol shaving cream. No nicks or cuts no irritation.
