Libertarians want Justin Amash to run for president, and he may do it
Washington Examiner ^ | May 22, 2019

Rep. Justin Amash's tweets declaring that President Trump committed impeachable offenses have made him an outcast among Republicans, but many of his supporters are excited about what they see as a sign he will run for president as a Libertarian.

The Michigan Republican, 39, is known for defying party leaders on issues such as mass surveillance and government spending. And since Trump took office, he’s been viewed as a possible Libertarian champion in 2020 — a notion amplified by his Saturday remarks.

Amash’s emergence as a possible competitor may have caught Trump’s campaign off-guard.

Good, he pull more votes from the democrat than Trump. Let’s face it, anybody who would vote for Amash would have likely voted for the democrat or stayed home.

~~~
Exactly.
This is such a easly spotted head-fake.
As a libertarian who supports Trump, the neocons and the socialists would both love to displace him with whichever imposter they can front.
The next hope of the open borders crowd: end all pretense that the Libertarian Party isn’t all cut from the cloth of Wrong Paul.
Typical. A squishy Republican that’s too stupid even for the GOP has no other options but to turn Libertarian.
Democrat war rooms are pumping out fake letters - begging him to run... all from follow ‘libertarians’...
It’s so easy to con people who want to believe.
Justin Amash should call John Kasich and see how many ‘letters’ he gets now that he’s said he won’t run as an independent.
I’m guessing zero.
Yep. A lot of climbing careerists did. Rubio and Cruz being the two most well known.
And he will lose. I wonder why everyone thinks that Libertarians are pissed off Republicans. I can only speak for myself, but when you talk to someone that identifies as a Libertarian, they usually come from the Left side of things....they want no responsibility for anything(really) .... it’s all live and let live. Which is fine.
So, then you ask one question. What happens in your, Live and Let Live scenario, when one neighbor starts to infringe on the other? There is no law enforcement. There are no laws. How does one handle that? They usually will slide into: I never said there were no laws or cops. People should respect each other....Ok....What happens when they don’t? Who is the arbiter of what is right and wrong?
