Great story! Need more stories like one when it comes to school shootings
He was one of the fastest receivers Oregon had. He also ran track as a sprinter, great athlete.
No doubt under the circumstances he would “tackle a threat” even if had a gun on him.
ESPN can’t allow the “good guy with a gun stopped the bad guy” theme in the story, if true.
Of course, Lowe sounds exactly like somebody that would’ve tackled the bad guy regardless.
how about we stop expecting school employees to face armed shooters with nothing but their bare hands? or a pair of scissors?
I don’t believe any FReepers hold that expectation however sadly the media narrative would still like to think so
My 2cents worth is that the media will try to spin this as an example of why we don’t need “armed staff” when you have Keanon Lowe as your coach and security guard. Lol. Wait for it.

This is in Portland. Lars Larson cut into his show with the story on Friday. He’d have mentioned if Lowe had been armed, and he didn’t. A shotgun is certainly a weapon you want to keep distance from, but inside 20 feet, what the hell.
I remember Lars Larson on WBT radio on Charlotte. I hated to see him taken off the air here. Yeah, he would’ve said something about a gun.
He’s probably got a podcast of both the regional and national shows.
