I believe it has something to do with "following orders" and getting home safe.....but I could be wrong...'though I doubt it.
See post 41. It’s about being politically correct, and not letting your head pop up above others’ for doing what’s right, even if it means coddling enemies and blocking allies. I must believe those citizens are no longer allies of those police. I would not be.
A lot a Germans did that — just followed orders.
