That is what troubles me. I have a LEO relative in the UK. He’s a liberal - while being bombarded with the whole “questioning Islam is racist and you’ll lose your job” compounded with “you’re almost at retirement age and don’t lose your pension”. This is how real power is used.
Capitulating to the pressure is still cowardice - but it is powerful, I can see the whole “path of least resistance” factor, especially when entire families are implicated.
