Prime Minister Modi has been awful towards India’s Christians: both Catholics and Protestants. It has become an increasingly hostile place of persecution.
Please be careful of projecting American political realities onto different countries including Western ones...but especially Eastern countries.
Not the same. And “conservative” (in this case, Hindu fundamentalist) and “liberal” mean different things in each place.
But having been greeted on the great holy day of Easter with the news of church bombings,in Sri Lanka, at least they ARE VOTING, not killing each other.
