Obama giving the OK would actually be unfortunate in that he would have probably given all directions orally without a written record. What would be ideal would be for Loretta Lynch to have sent an email with an added comment such as: “make sure this happens in time for the Trump Tower meeting”. Of course, I’m just dreaming that it would be that clear cut.
