The U.S. State Department has ordered "non-emergency U.S. government employees" to leave its embassy in Baghdad and its consulate in Erbil.

"The U.S. government's ability to provide routine and emergency services to U.S. citizens in Iraq is extremely limited," the department said in statement early Wednesday.

It has also warned citizens about traveling to Iraq. The U.S. embassy in Baghdad on Sunday tweeted that it was advising "all U.S. citizens of heightened tensions in Iraq and the requirement to remain vigilant."

I don’t even have to guess if we’ll have boots on the ground in or around Iran pretty soon. SMH

Nothing ever changes.

I HOPE Trump fights off the neocons and the military industrial complex.

He ran on keeping our boys away from this ####.

Let the sauds handle their problems

Though even though they had a part to do with killing 3,000 American ONLY 18 years ago, so many here have fallen in love with them.

Or give the necessary evil bullsh.t.

Use air and navy it COMES to that but let other country’s kids die in that God awful worthless middle east

USA ziehen Teile des Botschaftspersonals aus dem Irak ab

Pay special attention to the bit about the British general and the subtext of the article as a whole.

Pentagon disputes British general’s comments on Iraq militia threat
https://www.politico.com/story/2019/05/14/iran-forces-in-iraq-threat-1320761

” in a confusing turn, Ghika on Tuesday denied that there was daylight between his assessment of the threat from Iran-backed militias and the Trump administration’s. Pressed to explain the apparent discrepancy, the U.K. two-star appeared to limit his earlier remarks solely to units of the so-called Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq that the coalition considers to be “compliant.” The PMF, a collection of Iraqi state-sponsored militias, are mostly Shia Muslim groups, some of which are supported by Iran.”

U.S. intelligence agencies and their allies identified "credible threats." He contradicted the British general Chris Ghika, who is serving in the US-led operation against the terrorist militia "Islamic State" (IS) in the region. He had said that the threat of Iran-backed forces in Iraq and Syria had not increased.

Any American who still believes in a single word from "U.S. intelligence agencies" is a moron. LOL.

A mostly ‘know nothing’ statement. we have to evaluate statements from the various agencies. state dept & cia have become politically oriented in what they put out. i still have trust in the service agencies, but havent had access to what i use to have for a couple of decades

The U.S. State Department has ordered "non-emergency U.S. government employees" to leave its embassy in Baghdad

I hope we are sending the remaining folks some serious protection and have a plan to support them, unlike Benghazi

Your post is filled with absolute complete nonsense the Russian proxie the Iranian regime indeed posses a major threat to the peace and the overall greater stability in the Middle East in their quest for regional domaince I’m always amazed at how the Paleo’s and the Alt-Right Nationalist Populist have zero problems with Russia, and their Shiite Islamic fascist proxies cohorts doing what they want when they want and how they want in regards too expansionism throughout the vast region’s around the world but the minute the United States and our strategic allies/partners stands up to it suddenly we gotta hear them drone on and on about “Neocons”, (Slang word for Jews and supporters of the Jewish Nation of Israel),along with their kooky views on the military industrial complex.
