WASHINGTON (AP) Fresh out of his job as deputy attorney general, Rod Rosenstein said Monday that the Justice Departments investigation into Russian election interference was justified, that he would have never allowed anyone to interfere with it and that closing it had not been an option.
He also took aim at former FBI Director James Comey, characterizing him as a partisan pundit busy selling books and earning speaking fees. The barbs continued an extraordinary public spat between the two law enforcement officials, coming days after Comey said in a television interview that he didnt view Rosenstein as a person of high character.

Weasel Fight!
A$$hole. There was no justification to investigate the Trump campaign and appointing a Special Counsel. Russian interference, probably minimal in terms of both size and scope, could have been investigated by the FBI or Special Commission. We all know the Russian hoax was a pretext to spy on the Trump campaign.
Thank you, Mr. Rosenstein for your valuable service to our nation. You are a Patriot, and when the history books are written, you, Jeff Sessions, Mike Flynn, Mike Rodgers, and of course, Donald Trump, will go down in history alongside the Founding Fathers as the greatest Americans ever.
Can’t figure out Rosenstein, yet.
I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt only because we share the same favoritism of Justice Robert Jackson.
Are there any bureaucrats you mistrust, or do you think they're all swell Americans?

Mrs. Sessions, why are you lumping President Trump in with Rosenstein and Sessions?
Fresh out of his job as deputy attorney general, Rod Rosenstein
What no CNN gig?
Jeff Sessions?
You need to lay off your bong! That little Southern Fried A$$hole should be in jail for his behavior as AG. Alabama sent Trump a feckless little turd! That little MFer cost Trump two and a half years of his first term. When I think of what Trump could have accomplished had Sessions possessed a spine and a couple of balls, I want to go kick the crap out of the little ba$tard. If I read tomorrow he’s croaked, I will drink a toast to his “early departure” from this earth.
LOL! Nailed it!!
The same bureaucrat that Trump himself chose?
Because when Declass and the IG report hits the fan, Rosenstein and Sessions will be called up to testify. And it's going to be devastating. They're going to lay out why they did what they did, why Sessions recused himself because he, too was being spied upon and was therefore compromised.
You're the one who's smoking the bong, not me.
Rosenstein appointed Mueller to a non-crime investigation. Rosenstien signed off on the FISA court doucments and commited fraud against the court. Rosenstein recommended Comey’s firing and then hired Mueller outside his authority and should have waited for Wray to be hired. The scope of the investigation was illegally made broader than any in history and he allowed Mueller to hire biased attorney’s to review and perform the investigation. I hope Rod gets one up his ***! He is as criminal as them all.
Lumping?
Wasn’t RosenWeasel humping Sessions?
RosenWeasel’s signature on at least one of the fraudulent FISA applications cooked his goose.
Interesting indeed!
Trump's appointees are those he's told will likely be confirmed by the Senate, not those who necessarily place America first. Why is it that KooKs & Magoo acolytes miss this fact?
Of course it was! He was conducting a sting operation.
