Byron York: Why was FBI so wrong in Trump-Russia wiretap warrant?
Washington Examiner ^ | 05/13/19

Posted on 05/13/2019 12:28:06 PM PDT by Liberty7732

A huge controversy erupted last year when President Trump declassified parts of the FBI's secret request to wiretap former Trump campaign volunteer foreign policy adviser Carter Page. Defenders and critics of the president argued over whether the October 2016 warrant application to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court relied extensively on the so-called Steele dossier, which was a collection of anti-Trump allegations compiled by the former British spy Christopher Steele on behalf of the Hillary Clinton campaign. They also argued over whether the warrant adequately informed the court that the dossier was, in fact, a work of political opposition research, rather than legitimate intelligence gathering.

The arguments ended in impasse, with defenders and detractors set in their positions.

Now, however, we have new evidence, in the form of the Mueller report, to evaluate the Page FISA application. We can ask: Was the information the FBI relied on true? Were the FBI's representations to the court accurate? The answers do not bode well for the bureau.

They were wrong because the DOJ, FBI, and the CIA were corrupt and would do anything to hurt Trump even before being President. Washington is a shi! house of corruption both the Democrats and the Republicans and still are.

It was the FBI itself that made up the phony lying “evidence” to secure a warrant. They leaked it to some bloggers. Who published it.

The FIB then took that “documentation” and got their warrant.

The FIB wasn’t wrong. Instead they got caught. Byron remains perplexed over the larger picture.

The FBI was not wrong... They had an agenda in the same way that the national media PROSECUTED the ‘story.’

Hannity's got some explaining to do and apologies to make...TO US, not the FBI agents.

Even today, after a daily barrage for months on end of evidence of law breaking at the FBI, the silence from the "rank and file" agents is deafening AND very telling.

“Speaking to Lawfare, Baker emphasized how hard the FBI worked to verify the dossier’s allegations. “When a source shows up with a big stack of information, as in this case, you go to work,” he said. “It came in from what appears to be a reliable source. He gives you all this information. Go to work. Try to validate it. You don’t just swallow it hook, line, and sinker. That’s not what we do.”

Yes they did swallow it hook line and sinker if you believe Baker’s direct subordinate. From the following article:

“Ms. Anderson: “All necessary approvals, including up through and including the leadership of the FBI and the leadership of the Department, by the time I put that signature on the cover page had already been obtained.”

The real question is why Byron York is so naive about the FBI and its motives.

Why are burglars so wrong when breaking into a house? Why are thieves so wrong when stealing another person's property? Why are murderers so wrong when they shoot an innocent person?

It's really not hard to answer the question.

I’m trying to figure out why Byron’s detractors here assume he doesn’t know what happened? Writing the piece the way he did makes it more likely to open the eyes of the uninformed than if he used a sledgehammer. Good for him.
