Intelligence showing that Iran is likely moving short-range ballistic missiles aboard boats in the Persian Gulf was one of the critical reasons the US decided to move an aircraft carrier strike group and B-52 bombers into the region, according to several US officials with direct knowledge of the situation.

The concerns over the movement of the missiles was one of multiple threads of intelligence from various sources that led the US to believe Iran had a capability and intention to launch strikes against US targets.
I know there are some countries that would LOVE for us to #### ourselves again and get involved with boots on the ground on this one.
#### them.
Use the navy and air force as much as needed if they do anything stupid.
NO BOOTS.
And “intelligence” usually lets us know only what it wants to, especially when it wants us to get all psyched up about war with a country.
This Iranian movement is just a ‘message’ to Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. They will in turn lay down their US operations card.
The US military recently wargamed an EMP scenario where container launched small nukes fried the US grid.
Let’s just say it went horribly for the US.
For more, go to griddownconsulting.com and read Jonathan Hollerman’s write up from the war game event. He is the author of the EMP equipping modern patriot series which is up there on the Matt Bracken scale for getting it righr.
Righr = right.
We regret the error.
Iran has been doing that since at least 2009. Its nothing new.
The message is evidence that Iran fears the GCC/USA coalition that is providing the oil to replace Iranian oil that is no longer salable because of USA sanctions.
The message is that the sanctions are working
I’m reading “The Failure Of America’s Wars”. Hindsight is always 20-20 but going into Kuwait was unnecessary. American lives saved royal families that hate us and started used OPEC against us. Trump is exposing the folly. Still we owe Iran a pinch in the nose.
MI Ping
Boots are already on the ground.
In case, someone has a naive point of view here - we are not talking about a crate or two or even hundreds but thousands of advanced (guided) missiles. And short range is up to 1000 km. Iran is stetting the stage for a massive attack across southern Syria engulfing our base at Al-Tanf and passing on over the Golan and to the Mediterranean.
Pacifist revisionism is not beneficial.
The war in Kuwait saved the GCC. That is all that we need to know.
It is foolish to reprimand Bush for defending Kuwait
You’re right.
Let’s try to keep it to a VERY LOW amount.
Seems we can’t stay out battles no matter what is going on or what year it is.
It’s a difficult thing when the really TREMENDOUS profits some companies can make are tied to the deaths of young Americans.
Just saying there’s a lot of pressure on our elected officials to go out and find one.
Trump doesn’t need the $$. I hope he listens to his own voice and no others.
Still we owe Iran a pinch in the nose.
The 1983 Beirut barracks bombing was an Iranian suicide attack that occurred on October 23, 1983 killing 241 U.S. troops - a “pinch” in the nose is compensation?
This is not counting the over 400 troops killed in Iraq by Iranian madeIEDs
Would a EMP work in Tehran?
“The message is that the sanctions are working!”
Isn’t it amazing how sanctions work at that level and boycotts work in America.
It was not the first time.
Still, the lessons have not been applied. Key infrastructure components - transformers - are still not stockpiled and require years to order/manufacture for reasons still unclear to this writer.
In short, I view our government as embracing the effects of such an attack to leverage its position against the interests of the American people (Constitution).
It’s worse than criminal. Oh, and this is the same government which even under a willing president cannot stem the flow of criminals across our border.
Gee...I wonder why. /s
I got a feeling that Iran is getting ready to test a nuke. Just a feeling. Although we know at some point it’s inevitable. The question is what will we do about it?
