Good pasta sauce contains beef bones and/or anchovies. That’s probably what she tasted

I think this is just another financial scam from “the usual suspects”.

Authentic Pasta “Carbonara” always includes bacon (or bacon by another name). ALWAYS.

Therefore, if the woman actually did buy a “Carbonara” sauce that was labeled “vegetarian”, then the maker would NEED to add “bacon” flavor to the sauce. Otherwise, that sauce would just be a variation of a “Primavera” sauce. And THAT mis-labeling could trigger a DIFFERENT (and honest) lawsuit.

I don’t know if the maker of the vegetarian “Carbonara” sauce used some burnt parts of grilled eggplant or roasted peppers, used “instant smoke” or (horrors!) used flavor-chemicals to add a “bacon” taste and smell to a meat-free sauce.

IMHO, the real issue should be WHY would a person who chooses to NOT eat bacon would CHOOSE to buy a “bacon”-flavored sauce?

Was she ignorant?

Was she stupid?

Was she greedy?

GREED has my vote.
