If the Chicoms think Biden is our next POTUS they’ll think the election was stolen.
To get what Trump wants, and what is necessary, China’s Government and the Communist Party would need to give up direct central-planning control over key parts of its economy.
They are Marxists - they will never do it.
Its best to first recognize this fact, so trade with China can be put on a proper, equal footing.

Trade talks with China can just go on - while the tariffs are in place.
We can talk till we are blue in the face, as long as nothing ever relies on trusting communists to honor agreements.
Any excuse should be used to get the tariffs in place - then we can slow roll the talks, while time is on our side.

And China without US money flowing in is a battleship in the desert.

Is anyone surprised by this? The Chinese deal in the long term. They will just wait for the next administration to come along and in the meantime absorb whatever tariffs Trump throws at them. It’s not like they have to worry about public opinion polls or anything.
It’s clear China will be helping Biden in 2020 with his family ties, we know where to watch for “election meddling” on at least one front
I’d give up Chinese food to be Welch’d.
