PING!
This didn’t have a chance WHEN WE HAD THE HOUSE.
That’s the problem.
Perhaps if we win back the house with real conservatives and when Trump wins, something like this will happen.
Most notably, the committees budget would shift toward a flat benefit for both Social Securitys retirement and disability insurance programs; increase the minimum benefit for lower-income earners; adjust the retirement eligibility age to account for changes in longevity;

Preserving American Freedom provides $745 billion in total defense funding in 2020. Over the next decade, national defense would receive more than $7.7 trillion.
The proposal promotes a threat-oriented budget. It allocates resources to defense based on the missions that have been assigned to our military, rather than an arbitrary cap.
It would also move so-called overseas contingency operations to the base budget, eliminating what has far too often been a gimmick to increase spending. The Republican Study Committee budget would pay for additional defense resources through cuts to improper and wasteful domestic programs.
Low hanging fruit: Enforce rule of law and eliminate subsidizing illegals to the tune of $150 billion a year. Incentivize cabinet members with drastic cutting of expenses their respective departments and agencies.
“rein in Washingtons spending addiction by prioritizing core constitutional functions. By reducing inappropriate and wasteful spending and right-sizing the federal government”
I thought that restarting the economy, rebuilding the military, draining some Swamp and building some wall/addressing immigration would be first term priorities, but that downsizing Government, reforming entitlements and balancing the budget would have to be left for a second term, because they could piss people off and endanger re-election.
A second term is the opportunity to get these things done, but only if the stars align with control of Congress.
If he gets reelected, Trump will repair all the broken things, and Democrats will denounce him, take credit for any improvements, and dismantle them all within a decade. They will even want to tear down the wall.
GOPee sidesteps imo the constitutional reality that focusing federal spending on constitutional responsibilities is mandatory under the Constitution, not an option.
