“People in the US scoff at this argument from gun-rights advocates, mainly because were not Venezuela and the threat here is entirely theoretical. “
These people should always be reminded of the fact that it would take American and Canadian criminals (along with a few Adam Lanzas and Gamil Gharbis and Dylan Klebolds) many hundreds of centuries to equal the number murdered in the last century by four governments (Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, Communist China, and Pol Pot’s Cambodia) that disarmed it’s citizens upon taking power.

Good idea. We should supply arms to the Venezuelan freedom fighters. Just IMHO.

"Often attributed to Stalin, there is not a single source which show that Stalin said this at any given time. There is only one source outside the blogosphere which attributes the quote to Stalin, but does not provide any evidence for the attribution. That source is the book Quotations for Public Speakers : A Historical, Literary, and Political Anthology (2001), p. 121 by the former US senator Robert Torricelli."
The problem is, it doesn't matter how many times people repeat it, or how many websites, if it can't be found in his writings, or his daughter says "Yeah, he said that all the time", he's quoted in the New York Times, etc. If you check the link you'll find he DID say quite a few things, but hardly ever what is actually attributed. Total Grade A f$@cking asshole though.

Please accept my apology. Being the very hard-working guy I am with virtually no down time, I cannot fact check every quote quote site on the internet.
To: RatRipper
Well... OK. We’ll let you off with a warning this time. Slow down.
Don’t let it happen again. /jk
