You are not personally involved, but you do not KNOW with any certainty what you claim to know.

When I said it was impossible for you to know, I meant that it was impossible for ANYONE to know. And by this I mean that reading a report is NOT the same as you yourself (or anyone else wishing to verify this) interviewing and investigating the backgrounds of the women involved.

Like I said earlier I CAN provide firsthand experience and knowledge of the direct damage that adult entertainment and prostitution have that goes beyond human trafficking. These include the drug and alcohol addictions that are pretty much universal among “adult entertainers”. Mental illness is also nearly universal. Suicides and suicide attempts are way higher than those outside this industry. I’ve been acquainted with a number who’ve had children (which is also extremely common) and these children are exposed to a lot of danger constantly due to their parents’ involvement.

I have a couple of friends who are in recovery from drug addictions. One was forced to do some work for a big cartel based in my current state (different than where I grew up). As usual, there was a huge connection to the sex industry. The other always knew the easiest access to buying hard drugs was by going to topless bars or similar places because the police are often paid off or in on it. This is a business that brings with it endless corruption, destruction, disease, suffering, and death.

Anyone who is open minded and does not have a personal agenda favoring this “business” can easily find a great wealth of information about the toxic effect on families and society it has. Porn and adult entertainment lead to sex addictions that grow worse and manifest in more and more abusive behaviors. This feeds the demand which makes human trafficking, sex abuse (such as rape, torture, and pedophilia) profitable to those in the industry.

Further, these people hide their criminal enterprises behind legal businesses. My family has a very direct and close link to one of the mob families who used to run all of the prostitution and adult entertainment in the fairly large city where I grew up. The main guy went to federal prison for many years, and I know a lot of inside information about how that went down. He and my father exchanged correspondence by mail while he was in prison, and my father shared some of this with me. My father had met with him before he got caught in a sting operation and had tried to tell him he needed to change his ways. I could go on for hours with details about the specific damage and consequences of this industry. But it does no good to people who allow their personal agenda to determine their beliefs about reality.

I’ve also had to deal with a mob lawyer in some legal proceedings who did some pretty nasty stuff to me (trying to use legal harassment to create problems with my employer and damage my reputation) and put certain members of my family danger including taking a minor relative out of the country. I will not go into the specific connections other than to say he is currently disbarred and in federal prison for his criminal involvement, and the minor relative is safe and now grown and happily married. And my connection to this mob lawyer is the direct result of his connections to the adult entertainment business which, as I said, is used as a front for other criminal enterprises.

If you want to use sarcasm, fine. But when you include the phrase “your idea” you told a lie. A big whopper of a lie.

Most laws have a moral basis. Thou shalt not murder. Thou shalt not steal. Etc.

These law do not “enforce,” force morality, dictate morality, or “legislate morality” as the common memes assert. Laws provide a remedy when someone’s rights have been violated.

Porn and prostitution promoters and defenders happily trample on the rights of victims because they imagine prohibitions on these things somehow violate their own rights. But they don’t.

“We need more cameras, everywhere, in all private places so that people are not tempted to do anything wrong.”

I’ll repeat my advice.

Don’t be a liar.

This is beyond a straw man argument. A straw man is portraying your opponents argument a certain way so you can attack the fake argument. But suggesting that I PROPOSED this is a LIE.

The arguments I’ve made are no different than arguing why abortion should be illegal. Are you going to accuse all of the pro-life members of this forum of wanting to put everyone under constant surveillance to discourage them from getting secret abortions? That’s nonsense.

You’re trying to disguise an argument based on the leftwing idea that a “right to privacy” gives you the right to do anything you want, which under your argument may only include prostitution and porn. But they extend the same argument to murder, drugs, and the legal construct of turning sexual perversion into a civil right.

“We should create another agency with law enforcement powers, named ‘Ministry for the Preservation of Public Morals’ to enforce public morality.”

So, next time, don’t try to sneak in those two little words: “your idea” because that makes EVERYTHING else in your post a LIE.
