Strzok-Page texts suggested using post-election briefing to gather information on Trump team

Text messages between former FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page indicate they discussed using briefings to the Trump team after the 2016 election to identify people they could "develop for potential relationships," track lines of questioning and "assess" changes in "demeanor" – language one GOP lawmaker called “more evidence” of irregular conduct in the original Russia probe.

Fox News has learned the texts, initially released in 2018 by a Senate committee, are under renewed scrutiny, with GOP Sens. Chuck Grassley and Homeland Security Committee chair Ron Johnson sending a letter Thursday night to Attorney General Bill Barr pushing for more information on the matter.

"Any improper FBI surveillance activities that were conducted before or after the 2016 election must be brought to light and properly addressed," the senators wrote.

“This is yet more evidence that the FBI’s Trump-Russia investigation was filled with irregularities," Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., said. "The more we discover about the true origins of the investigation, the more abnormal it appears in every conceivable way.”

Exactly. And as soon as possible and the participants punished appropriately.

Trump was in his elected office at the time of this conspiracy. These acts were therefore TREASON and Stzrok and Page should be hanged along with all co conspirators.

It would be pleasant to see that smirking asshole Strzok thrown in prison, along with everyone else who participated in this coup.

I’m beginning to think Strzok has been a key Weaponized Agent for a long time, probably back to the GWB days.
He was way too confident during his meeting before Congress.
The kind of confidence that says he was untouchable.

The fact that he was picked to Mueller's team and that he is not now in jail tells me the same.

I believe treason requires actual work on behalf of a foreign government with which we are at war, so that might be a tad strong. But they’re definitely guilty of crimes that can bring life sentences. Regardless of the names of their crimes, they acted with felonious intent.

The fact that these conversations occurred AFTER Trump took office, reinforces that this was not merely misdirected wrongful activity.

These people demonstarted a frightening animus toward a sitting president.

Other evidence might show that, given the order, they were ready to take him out.

They were so cocksure of themselves......they figured they’d never get caught.

They had no fear b/c Obama had “fixed” everything.

“...track lines of questioning and “assess” changes in “demeanor”...”

changes in demeanor!!!!!

Just as I had suspected; they had been to too many training seminars and watched too many forensic criminal shows.

Treason would including overthrowing a sovereign, not necessarily on behalf of a foreign gov't.

I'm not sure this is treason but it smells like attempts of a political coup.

You are right."Sedition is a serious felony punishable by fines and up to 20 years in prison and it refers to the act of inciting revolt or violence against a lawful authority with the goal of destroying or overthrowing it. The following provides an overview of this particular crime against the government, with historical references." 18 U.S. Code § 2384. Seditious conspiracy If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow ........the Government of the United States, or they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both." But even better is the Smith act!! "The Alien Registration Act, or "Smith Act", was passed, which made it a federal crime to advocate ... the desirability of overthrowing the United States Government, or to be a member of any organization which does the same. It was often used against Communist Party organizations. This Act was invoked in three major cases, one of which against the Socialist Worker's Party in Minneapolis in 1941, resulting in 23 convictions, and again in what became known as the Great Sedition Trial of 1944.... Also, a series of trials of 140 leaders of the Communist Party USA also relied upon the terms of the "Smith Act"—beginning in 1949—and lasting until 1957..... the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the convictions of 11 CPUSA leaders in 1951 in Dennis v. United States,... that same Court reversed itself in 1957 in the case of Yates v. United States, by ruling that teaching an ideal, no matter how harmful it may seem, does not equal advocating or planning its implementation. ...., the "Smith Act" remains a Federal law. It is the Smith act that we pound home to NEVER DO THIS AGAIN!!
