A Freeper from Alabama suggested yesterday that Alabama Congressmen sometimes have a difficult time getting traction in a statewide race because they're not well known outside their own districts.

I wonder if Brooks decided against running for the Senate because he doesn't want to have the GOP face the same disaster as last time -- when a divided vote among conservative voters put Roy Moore in the runoff against Strange.

If the GOP has its act together in Alabama, they will get behind one dominant candidate and avoid a runoff altogether.
