What?

When I was dirt poor, I was a repeated victim of thieves. A theft of personal property of less than $750 was devastating to me. Stealing my son’s <$100 bicycle meant he didn’t have a bicycle, and I didn’t have $100 to replace it.

Sure, but under this new policy you could just go and steal him a better bicycle, like one worth $700. Everyone’s a winner!

I completely understand.

When I saw the “youths” in France burning cars I was thinking pretty much the same thing.
