White House officials fear they may be identified as Mueller report sources
axios ^ | 4/16/2019 | staff

Some of the more than a dozen current and former White House officials who cooperated with special counsel Robert Mueller are worried that his report — expected Thursday — will expose them as the source of damaging information about President Trump, NBC News' Carol E. Lee, Hallie Jackson and Kristen Welker report.

What's happening: "They got asked questions and told the truth and now they’re worried the wrath will follow," one former White House official told NBC.

Some of the officials and their lawyers have tried to find out if witnesses are named (or obvious), but "the Justice Department has refused to elaborate."

“NBC News’ Carol E. Lee, Hallie Jackson and Kristen Welker report”

Notice it always takes 2 or 3 to write tripe like this.

That assumes a lot. But then Fake News always assumes a lie.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~They have nothing to worry about.
Unless President Trump finds out who they are.
Then they have something to worry about.
I find the premise interesting considering the backstabbing POS’ Trump fired who went on to condemn him in the press, the holdovers who were operating against him or even staff you wouldn’t suspect.
It’s a legitimate angle.
If they told the truth under oath and under subpoena, they are not moles or rats or molerats. They are law abiding aides.
If they were told their testimony was confidential, it should remain confidential.
In this era of “My Truth” (remember Christine Blasey Ford and “her truth”), the lines get pretty blurry. With all the “reporting” in the MSM, people could taste blood in the water. Some might even have believed they were speaking truth. Now that the actual verifiable facts come out, they might have to live with their documented, proven lies against Trump. And just because Mueller didn’t indict them for lying doesn’t mean Barr can’t or won’t...
If they were told their testimony was confidential, it should remain confidential.
Tell that to Schiff, Pelosi and Schumer and the media who are demanding an unredacted version of the report. Frankly, they say anything that was Grand Jury testimony should NOT be made public. If that's the "law" then it should be abided.
NBC News' Carol E. Lee, Hallie Jackson and Kristen Welker report.
3 NBC reporters on the story? Fake, fakie, fake.
Agree and as a side point, names redacted or not, there is always a way to figure out who said what.
I’m particularly interested where Reinse Priebus fits in this puzzle.
“will expose them as the source of damaging information about President Trump”
Editorial nonsense. So damaging Mueller found no cause of action against the President.
Absolutely. They want to change the law after the fact. They will not succeed. I think the redactions will actually be minimal, and Mueller will back them. The redactions will stand as legally required.
Schiff, Pelosi and Schumer et al, will screech about the redactions, but that's just for the benefit of their moonbatty base. They have no case and they know it.
