Democratic presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg announced that he and his husband are planning to have a child soon.
Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, revealed their plan at a rally in Brooklyn on Monday, just one day after he officially launched his 2020 presidential campaign. Buttigieg, fondly referred to as "Mayor Pete," made the reveal while answering questions about his views on paid family leave, an issue he said he has a "personal stake in."

The title demonstrates the destruction of the meaning of words and the language they speak.

Last I heard two men cannot go off together into the woods and return 10 months later saying “we HAD a child”.
So how can Pete what’s his name and any other man “have a child” either “soon” or otherwise? They can’t.
If the language is restored to its proper use, the “journalists” would have to have said:
“he and his partner are planning to obtain a child soon”.
At least “partner” would be admitting the other man is not a “husband” and “obtain” does not pretend they can “have” a child, in the sense that a husband and wife can have a child.
Yea, I know, I was using polite langauge with “obtain”, I could have just as easily have said “get”, as in:
“he and his partner are planning to go out and get a child soon”.
Now THAT would have been honest.
I thought Buttgig was going to have Anthony Weiner as his running mate. Buttgig and Weiner for president. Hollywood will (bare)back them for sure. It’s all about the love.
