in the past 24 hours, BBC has been going ballistic on France for backing Haftar in Libya. Haftar has, over severals years - with assistance from France, UAE, Saudi Arabia & Egypt - made alliances with the powerful tribal groups, and has been wiping out Islamist groups, including Muslim Brotherhood, some of whom are allies of the UN-favoured govt in Tripoli. think Syria, Arab Spring.

listen as spooky Lyse Doucet and Razia Iqbal go off at France in the first 13 minutes below. typical of Doucet, she tries to insinuate at the very end of the segment that some of the tribal groups are turning against Haftar. same old divide & conquer, which is all the BBC knows.

FIRST 12MINUTES 52SECONDS:

AUDIO: BBC Newshour: UN envoy to Libya warns against foreign intervention
Presenter: Razia Iqbal
Newshour’s Lyse Doucet has been speaking to the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salamé, who warns against direct foreign intervention in the worsening conflict. We also hear from a French foreign ministry spokeswoman on France’s position within the security council.

btw I don’t have an interest in any of the factions, but BBC have been repeating this hostility towards France throughout the world on BBC World Service over the past 24 hours.
