Alcohol involved and just horsing around? Or other darker motives.... Regardless, a tragedy for the deceased Marine.

No real need for alcohol. I saw guys whom I thought would kill other Marines in certain situations. We Marines are by nature aggressive people and sometimes that explodes.

Nobody more aggressive and mean than Patricias, and we never killed our own on purpose. One guy in Afghan was carrying the C6 when the sear let go, and before he could tear the belt off, it stitched up Jason Walsh. Walsh died, but was also his very good friend.

I wonder if this was a lover’s tiff over a woman or something, that can amp up emotions.

Yeah, I saw some of that. When I got out and was in college, I'm really surprised that 'nature' didn't get me in prison.

In today's Marine Corps it could have been over a man, a woman, or even a transgender thing.
