The Paris Fire Brigade is part of the French Army. Originally formed to defend Paris and later evolved into a fire brigade. Their selection process is arduous and the training extensive.
What we saw on display were their skill with various fire fighting techniques, ladder climbing, with full kit ... a great deal of emphasis is put on athleticism with workouts on parallel bars, tumbling, etc., close to a Olympian level this all part of their regular training. As a former Marine they impressed me as being military in bearing and definitely ‘squared away’.
