Obviously the GOP could have passed any law they wanted when they had a majority in both houses Jan 2017-Jan 2019. But they did nothing. Because regardless of what they pretend to want now, in reality they want our borders WIDE OPEN.

Any legislation they try to introduce now is just “border theater” because they know the dems in the house will not support it.

It’s all a big show folks.

This is the best he can do? Things get so watered down by the time they get to the public. Like all that soft Brexit, hand wringing, slow walking crap.

While that is true, the asylum issue is a little different since the Supreme Court going against Trump policy in December 2018 was after they lost the House to the dims.

This Supreme Court stance on asylum is what caused the flood we have now, and the only real fix for it is for Congress to rewrite the law on asylum. I don’t hold any hope that this Congress will be able to fix it, too many in Congress now support open borders. Hopefully it will at least shine the light on the issue so more will understand what is going on and why President Trump is not to blame and why he cannot actually fix it- he can only deal with it as it is.
