Legislation proposing the separation of Chicago from Illinois is intended to spark discussion about the overarching influence of the city in state politics, not actually lead to the creation of the 51st state, according to a central Illinois lawmaker who sponsored the measure.
GOP state Rep. C.D. Davidsmeyer, the bill's sponsor, said the proposal would urge U.S. Congress to make the nation's third-largest city its own state, the State Journal-Register reported.
"It's more of a frustration of the policies than the true belief that Chicago and Illinois would be better off as separate states," Davidsmeyer said. "I don't believe that Chicago and the state of Illinois should be separated. Our relationship is mutually beneficial."
Chicago needs to recognize how its policies impact rural Illinois, Davidsmeyer added.

Yes. Illinois outside of Chicago can be very prosperous in terms of agriculture.
Separate Chicago from the rest of Illinois and then kick them out of the country along with New York City, Detroit, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and all of Massachusetts.

Make it a district as well as the nations capitol. Take D.C. and make it a county of Maryland.
Chicago can merge with San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Taos, Denver, San Antonio, Houston, Madison, and wherever to form their own version of reality.

Someone here once said that US Supreme Court back in a leftist incarnation prohibited states from selecting their State Senators as the US Senators are chosen. Before this the open country had as many senators per square mile as the cities. Now states like NY and Illinois have to do what the big cities want. Does anyone have the skinny on this ??

I don’t know details, but once again, the corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification federal Congress is seemingly not doing its constitutionally enumerated duties to suppress insurrection, or guarantee each state a republican form of government.

All patriots in the nation need to rescue Illinois from renegade Chicago by electing new patriot federal lawmakers in 2020 elections that will not only promise to support PDJT’s vision for MAGA, but will also promise to do their constitutional duty to suppress insurrections and guarantee each state a republican form of government.
