Dallas County's new district attorney announced his office will no longer prosecute "theft of necessary items" up to $750.

The announcement drew an immediate reaction from small business owners who are worried that word of the policy will encourage shoplifting.

While the Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot tried to clarify his new policy on Friday, some business owners are worried about what the DA's new policy will mean for them.

Multiple urban DA's around the country (most of them owned by Soros) have announced policies of no longer enforcing theft or drug laws.

Yet the leftist scum throw a fit if Sheriffs or local officials refuse to enforce gun laws.

$750?

That’s not a trivial amount of money.

No problem if people start shooting and killing thieves.

I would love to see the reaction to a DA announcing that he will not prosecute people who shoot criminals, if there is even a plausible way to consider it self-defense.

The unmentioned goal is to get black men out of jail or keep them from jail by most any means possible. The easiest way is to simply stop prosecuting them. Get ready for open season on theft in Dallas County.

From the memory hole:
Back during the 2016 election Sorros pumped $$$ into DA races nation wide.
This is ‘Sorros fruit’.
This will lead to retailers just taking the criminals ‘out back’ and evening up.
I would support that.

Broken Windows policing works, it’s how Giuliani and team cleaned up NYC in the late 1990s. This is a direct repudiation of that, and the results won’t be pretty, most of all for those living in less-well-heeled parts of Dallas or other cities doing this nonsense.

A good handgun done be a necessity in d’ hood. Suggestions for nice handguns under $750. I might need to go shoppin down in Dallas this weekend.

On second thought - it’s getting warm in Dallas so the furs should be on sale. Anything under $750 at Needless Markup? After all it’s going to get cold next winner and a warm jacket for my wife is a necessity.

Sacramento, Oakland, Gay Frisco, and LA have reducing crime rates by not calling something a crime if below a certain value.

Take care of the problem yourself, and if the Dallas DA has a problem with it, take care of that problem yourself, too.

Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot announces his plan to give aid and comfort to the enemy.

An indictment, trial, conviction, sentence, and public hanging should be the fate of Traitorcreuzot.

Creuzot used to be a Republican, but he switched parties because he was afraid he would lose at the ballot box after all the Katrina voters moved to Dallas and clocked in.

Before the Katrina people showed up Republicans held the majority in the county courts.

Calif is $950. And of course, the entire meat counter is ‘necessary items’. One $950 theft a day for a week, or a bunch of smaller ones for a month, and the grocer is in hurt mode. Watch for business insurance to respond with higher premiums. Or the business owner can pass it off to the government as ‘inventory losses’ but that just spreads the cost to all taxpayers.

Here’s a practical solution for business owners: create a “photographic vigilance-facial recognition network”. Each of them would have a facial recognition camera at their entrance, then when they briefly detain a shoplifter, “just to recover the stolen item or items”, they take a quality photo of their face and put it into the network.

And from that moment, they are *banned* from all retailers in the network. As soon as they are ID’ed by the software, an employee compares their face with the photo, and if it is a match, they are told to leave the store.

If they refuse, the police are called and asked to issue them a *civil*, not criminal, trespassing citation. Like getting a traffic ticket. If you throw it away, you will get hauled before a judge for contempt of court and possibly get put in jail.

Do any FReepers know if the Texas ‘Castle Doctrine’ law apply in the case of business owners? I think it does, but additional input from smarter people than I would be appreciated. Thanks.
