“Christianity is a development of Judaism — with provision for gentiles, who in turn will respect and honor the Jewish legacy. There won’t be any “trampling” by those gentiles. They are counted part of the church universal of all believers from Adam’s generation to the end.”

The trampling has already occurred. It’s historical. It’s fact. The Temple to this day does not exist. If the Christians were concerned about the Jews, the Mosques would have been raised, and the Jews brought back to rebuild their Temple during the Crusades. That’s not really what happened.

Readily it is visible that modern gentile Christians have largely acted as an aloof club all to themselves. There are some bright exceptions, but they are mostly denominational, such as Southern Baptist. But I doubt that even Southern Baptists are, of themselves, going to march up to Jerusalem and raze (not raise) Islamic temples -- or that it's reasonable to place this criterion upon them while they are still largely gentile. The third restoration of the Temple is an end times thing and attempts to rush it ahead of schedule would only meet with God's wrath.

But one thing that COULD arise from Southern Baptists (and closely allied congregations like many bible churches) might be an unprecedented evangelization movement to undermine Islam itself. Just to think about that is quite an eager anticipation.

There is a great case to be made to Muslims for Christian faith. Jesus is the prince of peace — Mohammed is forever itching for war, as well as dictating a barbaric standard of community.

It could. I can think of three such references right off including that one, that speak of such things.

I believe it’s no coincidence that Israel exists and Jerusalem is a hot issue (i.e. President Trump moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem).

It’s also not a coincidence that Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons (Ezekiel 38:5).

Iran has also, somewhat recently, practiced capturing the Temple Mount in Jerusalem (Ezekiel 38 will not go well for them). This portends the eventual Ezekiel 38 IMHO.

The principle of an eternal, fadeless hope (called out by God) continues to appeal to mankind. And there is a counter-principle of an angry doom (egged on by the devil) which menaces mankind.

Watch, fight (spiritually), and pray....

There is a false doctrine which believes God has defaulted on His prophetic promises to Israel, and because Israel has rejected their Messiah, He now has forever given to the church, what He had promised to Israel. This is called replacement theology and is a false doctrine.

He is currently in the process of concluding the Church Age Dispensation and returning His focus to the Jews. He will fulfill His Promises to Israel.

Quote~ 20“When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. 21Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city. 22For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written. 23How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. 24They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

Luke 21:20-24

Jeshua spoke about the destruction of Jerusalem. He even said that “not one stone would remain upon” another regarding the great Temple. (Which make me completely doubt the Western Wall as belonging to the Temple and not Hadrian’s Fortress.

I think that prophetic statement has dual fulfillment implications. Speaking of both, A.D.70, and also the times of Jacobs trouble, soon to come.

The actual New Testament speaks of a merging theology. Out of Jewish and Gentile believers in Jesus the Messiah and Savior, one church is constructed.

Jesus can well operate in spite of misunderstandings of this kind, which do not constitute the unforgivable sin.

Some put it as a “near” and “far” view. This fits with the idea of the bible as a story with themes that reflect on one another, rather than as a scientific tome.

Actually, The first and second temples were in the City of David. Josephus said that the Temple was about 1/3 of a mile below Fortress Antonia.
There was a covered, wide walkway from the fortress’ southwest wall to the northwest wall of the temple complex (Acts 21:31-40).
Archeologists have uncovered the location of Solomon’s Temple in the City of David, near the Gihon spring, where the books of Kings and Chronicles place it.
The City of David is the original site of Jerusalem. It was destroyed in about 135-136AD by the Romans. They built a city, around the old fortress and called it Aelia Capitolina, which is what we call “Jerusalem” today, and they renamed Judah, Palestina.
