Look at Farticus....he funny man.
They got their reparations at Gettysburg, Shiloh Hill, Bull Run, Chancellorsville, Antietam, Chicamauga, and a host of other battles leaving over 1.7 million of our decedents, counting both sides, either killed or wounded and almost dividing our nation forever.
IF the thankless POSs don’t like it here, let em pack up their crap and move to South Africa or better yet; Zimbabwe.
Reparations should be everyone gets to Vote yes or no not a Politicians pulling another scam on the taxpayers
I agree that any descendant of a slave in the USA whose income is less than the average income of Africans still in Africa, is due reparations.
Trump's got all the high ground staked out between reality ("real reality" not "designer/make-believe reality") and the Dems.
To pay it they’ll have to empty bank accounts and pensions
Seems like they are bent on starting CW II.
Go for it, Spartacus. This is going to go a long way towards turning recent immigrants into Republicans.
Republicans can show up Democrat hypocrisy and introduce a bill to make slavery reparations a voluntary fund where liberal Dem Americans can signal their virtue by donating 5% of annual income to the reparations fund. Must be a minimum of 5% if they do it so they cannot throw a buck in the pot to purchase a lifetime membership in racial sainthood. These creeps already as a demographic contribute less proportionately of their per capita income than conservatives.
They’re not about to start redistributing their own income now to others
It will solve nothing and instantly create an air of resentment as poor working whites are taxed to give even more money to welfare bums and crack whores and rich shakedown artists like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.
1. Who would be eligible to receive reparations?
2. Who would be liable to pay reparations?
3. Would reparations be contingent on U.S. citizenship?
4. Would reparations be based on provable lineage to a documented slave ancestor?
5. Would reparations be taxable?
6. Would reparations be means tested?
7. Would reparations be a one time payout, or a continuing annual payment?
8. Would recent immigrants be eligible for reparations?
9. Will there be a fixed amount set aside for reparations, to be divided among the certified pool of eligible recipients, like a class action lawsuit, or there will be a fixed amount given to each person, with the total payout to be determined by the number of qualified recipients?
10. Would reparations be based on a percentage of “qualifying” blood, as Native American benefits currently are?
11. Would payment amount be based on this percentage of “qualifying” blood? (i.e. a higher percentage of blood, a higher amount paid.)
12. Are you sure this is a good idea?
He said it could solve persistent racism and discrimination that have been built into the system for decades, leading to disparate outcomes for all black Americans.”
lol
So I’m mostly Germanic but have a bit of African and PeeDee indian. Does this mean I pay myself?
I want everyone to be treated exactly the same under the law.
But if that is not good enough, I will do what is necessary to reform the behavior of anyone who tries to oppress me.
Reparations have already been paid. In blood and by the purchase of Liberia. Go to hell Booker.
The big takeaway I get from this is that the Democrats would be very foolish to ever provide reparations. It takes away their big lever.
If Blacks feel that they deserve reparations, if Blacks feel that the reparations might happen, if Blacks feel that the Democrats will provide those reparations -- then Blacks will support Democrats. For years and years and years.
But if reparations were to occur, then Blacks would put their energy into their community and actively seek better neighborhoods. That means law enforcement, jobs, schools and opportunities. That basically means Blacks would become Republicans. So ... Democrats talk a lot, but they have no intention of "solving" this problem.
It was 750,000 and nobody was dying for the slaves. That belief is the result of a lot of propaganda that distorted the real issues of the Civil War.
The truth is that Northern populations hated black people and the vast bulk of them opposed slavery not because they cared about black people, they opposed it because they saw slavery as a threat to their ability to earn wages from work.
Nobody on either side fought for the slaves. One side fought because it was invaded, and the other side fought because their president successfully convinced them to furnish men to fight a war to "preserve the Union."
Later, freedom for slaves was thrown into the mix, but only because it was seen as being a useful weapon to use against the Southern states. Nobody started the war thinking they were going to free slaves. That ended up being an unintended consequence of the war, but it wasn't a goal until much much later.
There is an element of statute of limitations here. There are those who have African decent who are in no way related to slave ancestors. Even if you had direct ancestry, you have not EARNED reparations.
If the Dems want to see a 50 state Republican presidential sweep, just keep promoting this crap. The Dems should make it front and center of their presidential platform. The presidential election will then be an historic Republican sweep of Reaganesque proportions.
